The Syria Borders Tracker app is a live toolfor constant up-to-date information on border crossings in Syria.The app currently supports seven border crossings in the northwestregions of Latakia, Idleb, Aleppo, and their Turkish counterparts.In the near future the area of coverage will be expanded.BorderTracker’s interface is simple in order to provide rapidinformation from each of the crossings. Its use is as easy asstarting the app, selecting the border from a list, and instantlyhaving access to the most recent report on the current andhistorical statuses of the crossing.Data is provided on the operators of the crossing, the ease ofaccess for particular groups, and the roads available after thecrossing. Specifics on the operators of the crossing include theorganization (Free Syrian Army, Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham,Turkish Officials, Regime, etc.) and which groups they aretargeting for inspection. Ease of access is broken down forcivilians and humanitarian aid groups discussing the extent ofinspections, monitoring, and likelihood of successful crossing.Specific data on times of operation and other useful information isprovided intermittently. The app is updated frequently via the webfor worldwide access to detailed and concise border reports frommultiple contacts in Syria.This information will be of particular use to any organizationproviding aid or programming in Syria or nearby.
